Sorry but, I had to this.

I hope you don't mind Steve but, this was just an impressive
line up, I had to mend this pan together. (wish this was higher rez)

Byron Dragway 1973.

--Dave

Dave, no problem with your effort. Actually, I had thought about doing the same thing, but didn't know how.

I wish the resolution were higher, as well. They were shot on a 35mm rangefinder that my dad brought back from Korea. I have no idea what happened to the negatives. These were scanned from photos that had a semi-pebble grain finish, so it is what it is.

Thanks again.

Prock & Howell vs. Harrell with Hawaiian on deck.

Hawaiian vs. Schartman ahead.

Joe Black out front to line Jerry up vs. Randy Walls in round 2.

Misc shots...

Whatever happened to Fred Goeske?
Dick Bourgeois used to call him "Skinhead"..
Savage

Denny - Dad talked to Fred a while back regarding those shots he has of him.  I found his seller account on eBay one day and sent his contact info to Dad.

Here's his website and some info...

That's Fred in the fire suite, and Bob Van Sciver(sp) in the blue jacket. Fred is still selling gadjets in So. CA, talked to him couple years back, he wanted sell some wheel-spacers, at the time.

Jon
the NHRA photo of the week is the best one i've seen...I'll send it
your first Raider pic was 79..that is when Al bought it back from Super Mario
I was running my Nor'Easter Mustang ll then.in fact my avatar may be the same race  at LVD

Kenny Youngblood did ALL those designs..My blue one included.the Monza was for Pulde..he later used a version of it for his War Eagle

oh ya..Thanks Big Bob
you put up 50 perfect pics..mine is the only one fkd up!! I can tell it was my car due to the header shields and outside puke tank lines..
The pics Warren posted was Lawton's car wearing model box paint.black tin,no shields, burn downs or big wheel bubbles..and my name was on the back next to the letterer's ':p'

Franko, that is a really good question.Dave Cain,Bob's son, told me it was.Said the car even had the orange tinted glass in it when they got it.Here is it's evolution:went from Leal in 67 to the Phillips/Baltimore Bandit team in 68.LATE in 68,sold to Cain, who ran it in 69 as an injected gas funny car.In 70,put a new body on it,blown fuel Hemi, and went AA/FC racing.Ran the car through 1971.They may have had some chassis work done on it by Tropeano or someone before they went fuel racing.

the last car in this post was a logghe chassis that was also rodalyn knox first funny car      todd
